In 2022, encountering electric unicycles sparked my curiosity. I pondered: why all black? This query led to a collaboration with EUCO, crafting vibrant custom color fairing systems for electric unicycles.
Transforming Electric Unicycles with Custom Fairing Systems
The concept was straightforward: liberate Electric Unicycle riders from monotonous single-color options by offering limitless customization possibilities. Collaborating closely with industry giants like Inmotion, Kingsong, and Begode, alongside esteemed distributor EUCO, I spearheaded the design and production of custom fairing systems. Extensive research, including surveys and expert interviews, validated the viability of our vision. Through a meticulous process spanning over a year, I navigated the realms of design, engineering, manufacturing, and marketing. I look forward to launching this product in Spring 2024.
Crafting fairing systems entails precision and focus. I employ 3D scanning to meticulously capture the wheel's contours, a process demanding patience and keen attention to detail. Prior to scanning, the wheel undergoes disassembly and preparation, including the application of anti-reflective coating. With professional-grade 3D scanners, we transform these intricate details into digital reality.
Harnessing a suite of tools like Blender, Fusion 360, and SolidWorks, I embark on crafting the fairing system. Transforming raw 3D scan data, I refine, smooth, and thicken it to the required specifications. Each section is meticulously designed for seamless integration, ensuring effortless installation onto the wheel while maintaining the desired aesthetic.
Upon finalizing the fairing system design, every component undergoes precision 3D printing using Carbon Fiber-infused filament. Exterior shells retain their natural finish, while interior shells receive vibrant paint or wraps, offering a spectrum of color choices. Leveraging a network of FDM 3D printers, each part is meticulously crafted to uphold durability and aesthetic appeal.
